1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by websites in a user’s browser or device during a visit. They let the website remember information about the visit (preferred language, active session, etc.) to facilitate navigation and offer personalised features.
Cookies may be:
- First-party: set directly by this website.
- Third-party: set by other domains whose services are integrated into this site (e.g. Google, Meta).
- Session: deleted when the browser is closed.
- Persistent: remain on the device for a set period.
2. Types of cookies used by this website
2.1 Necessary cookies
These are essential for the website’s basic operation and cannot be disabled because the site would not work correctly without them. They do not collect user information for marketing. They are usually set in response to user actions (privacy preferences, shopping-cart sessions, etc.).
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ri_cookie_consent |
royal-imbau.com (first-party) | Stores the user’s cookie preferences so the banner is not displayed on every visit. | 1 year |
2.2 Analytics cookies
We use Microsoft Clarity to analyse website use through heatmaps and session recordings, including clicks, scrolling, pages visited and technical browser data. Clarity uses pseudonymous identifiers; this data should not be considered anonymous. The service loads only when you accept analytics cookies; rejecting them also prevents its cookieless mode from running.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_clck |
Microsoft Clarity | Stores the Clarity user identifier and preferences for this site. | 1 year |
_clsk |
Microsoft Clarity | Links visited pages within the same session recording. | 1 day |
Microsoft also documents third-party cookies such as CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR and SM. Their use depends on consent and the browser; we authorise Clarity advertising storage only if you also accept marketing. See the Clarity cookie documentation and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
2.3 Marketing cookies
These display advertising relevant to users’ interests and measure campaign performance. They are activated only with user consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au |
Google Ads | Measures Google Ads conversions. | 90 days |
_fbp |
Meta (Facebook/Instagram) | Identifies browsers to measure and personalise Meta advertising. | 90 days |
Google Ads cookie policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Meta cookie policy: facebook.com/policies/cookies.
2.4 External-content cookies
This website may embed third-party content (YouTube videos, Google Maps, Instagram posts). When loaded, external providers may set their own cookies. These cookies are activated only if the user has consented to external content.
| Provider | Purpose | Cookie policy |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube (Google) | Embedded video playback | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Maps | Interactive location maps | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Instagram (Meta) | Embedded Instagram posts | facebook.com/policies/cookies |
3. How to accept, reject or configure cookies
On your first visit, a cookie banner appears with three options:
- Reject: only strictly necessary cookies will be activated.
- Configure: opens a panel where each optional category can be enabled or disabled individually.
- Accept all: all cookie categories will be activated.
You can change your settings at any time by clicking “Cookie settings” in the website footer or by pressing the button below:
4. How to withdraw consent
Users may withdraw consent at any time as easily as it was given, through cookie settings (see above). Non-essential cookies will then no longer be set on future visits. Withdrawal does not apply retroactively to data collected while consent was valid.
Disabling analytics removes the first-party Clarity cookies (_clck and _clsk). If Clarity was active, the page reloads to stop cookieless collection too. We cannot remove Microsoft-domain cookies from this site; you can manage them in your browser.
You can also manage cookies directly in your browser settings:
Disabling cookies in the browser may affect website operation.
